Become a Radiologic Professional in Oklahoma

Healthcare professions like radiological technology are rapidly expanding as our nation’s aging population continues to grow.

(Leer esta información en español)

In Oklahoma, there are 2,270 radiological technologists currently employed, and within 10 years, that number is expected to rise considerably. In order to meet demand, employment opportunities for radiologic technologists in Oklahoma and across the nation are likely to expand by 113 from the years 2014-2024.

As radiology employment opportunities continue to expand and salaries become more competitive, the next few years are a perfect time for interested students to start pursuing a career in radiology.

Salaries for Radiologists

Currently, the average annual salary for a radiologic technologist in Oklahoma is $56,520, with an average hourly wage of $27.17.

While this salary is slightly less than the national annual average of $58,520, Oklahoma has one of the nation’s lowest overall costs of living. For radiologic technologists living in both the state’s rural and urban areas, this low cost of living helps to keep expenses down. More information on Rad Tech salaries in Oklahoma.

Radiology Requirements in Oklahoma

In the state of Oklahoma, all working radiologist assistants must carry a state license. Each license must be renewed at the end of each 2-year term, and includes a mandatory 50 hours of continuing education. Unlike the majority of US states, the state of Oklahoma does not make use of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification exam for its licensing requirements.
